Thanks to a late goal from Alvaro Morata, Spain won in Portugal (0-1), winning their qualification for the Final Four of the League of Nations.
There will be an unprecedented winner in the League of Nations. After France, it was Portugal, the first winner of the event, which was eliminated on Tuesday evening.
Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates, however, held their ticket to the Final Four until the last minutes of this meeting against Spain. But La Roja ended up making the difference, and snatching their qualification on a goal from Alvaro Morata (88th). A great reward for Luis Enrique’s men, who overall mastered the game (10 shots, 64% ball possession).
Spain thus joins Croatia, Italy and the Netherlands in the Final Four which will take place in June 2023.
