For his return to competition after his beautiful Tour de France, David Gaudu has decided to resume with the Classic Bretagne on August 28th. He will therefore not be at the start of the Vuelta.
Fourth in the Tour de France 2022, David Gaudu is currently taking advantage of a few days off to recharge the batteries before tackling the end of the season deadlines. During a live Twitch, the leader of FDJ-Groupama also said more about the rest of his program. He notably confided that he would participate in the Bretagne Classic scheduled for Sunday August 28.
On his land, the native of Landivisiau will cross swords with Tadej Pogacar, Wout van Aert or even the winner of the 109th edition of the Grande Boucle, Jonas Vingegaard, whose participation has recently been recorded by his Jumbo-Visma formation. According to Ouest-France, Peter Sagan, Giacomo Nizzolo or even Tom Dumoulin should also be in the game.
Therefore, this means that David Gaudu will not be at the start of the Vuelta, which will take place from August 19 to September 11. The 25-year-old rider rather intends to take part in the various Italian classics that are looming on the horizon, with the Tour of Lombardy in sight, scheduled for October 8.
