AS Monaco is launched!

Like OL, who fell Ajaccio on Friday, AS Monaco started their season with a victory this Saturday on the lawn of Strasbourg (1-2). A nice introduction.

Forced to go through two preliminary rounds to see the Champions League this season, Monaco has no time to waste at the start of the championship. This week, the Monegasques have already rubbed shoulders with PSV on the European stage, with the key to a draw at home (1-1) which obliges them to do so next Tuesday in Eindhoven. They put the cover back this Saturday at La Meinau, on one of the most difficult lands to conquer in Ligue 1.

Despite an epic, even heroic end to the match from Alsatians who will have had the merit of never giving up in this part, the players of the Principality knew how to make life easy by hitting on either side of the break . By a happy comeback first, Krépin Diatta, with a masterful recovery at the entrance to the surface (0-1, 43e). Then by the carefree youth – and opportunist on the spot – embodied by Sofiane Diop, at close range (0-2, 53e).

Diallo made the Rock tremble

Habib Diallo relaunched the Strasbourg machine shortly after the hour mark to make the visitors’ challenge a bit more challenging (1-2, 65e). But the latter finally held on, saved by an offside to the millimeter of a Diallo again scorer in added time (90e+2), but also by the sure parades of Nübel, one after the other, in front of Thomasson and Nyamsi in stride. “We like to scare each other, noted Diop on the Prime Video antenna. But we leave here with the three points, that’s the main thing. There are still a lot of things to review, the most important thing was to win this first league game, now we are already looking towards Tuesday! “No time to savor indeed, the ASM has their work cut out for them.
