There will be 26 Blues in Qatar

The selections qualified for the World Cup will indeed be able to summon 26 players this winter. To align just as many on the score sheet.

Over the past two days, a pre-World Cup seminar was held in Doha involving representatives of the 32 nations qualified for the next football high mass. The opportunity for Qatar to make a logistical point, essentially, less than 140 days from the opening ceremony. And for Fifa to confirm an expected decision: the enlargement of the globalist groups from 23 to 26 elements.

This was already the case during the Euro (played in 2021), but then three players had to take their places in the stands. This will not be the case this winter since the 26 lucky winners from each country will indeed be able to appear on the score sheet. This in order to best spare players who, faced since 2020 with the pandemic, must this season deal with a World Cup at the end of the calendar year.

For Didier Deschamps and his counterparts, the headache will therefore be less. The boss of the Blues probably having the vast majority of his workforce already well in mind. According to our barometer, no less than 20 tricolor players seem destined for the Qatari epic. The six missing links are certainly to be picked from among the twenty remaining names…

The tricolor barometer at five months of the World Cup:

🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 They will be in Qatar except disaster
Hugo Lloris, Mike Maignan; Raphaël Varane, Presnel Kimpembe, Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez; N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba; Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema.
