Comments on the microphone of France Televisions for the shock France-United States, Richard Dacoury was the target of sharp criticism.
The French men’s basketball team could hardly imagine a better start to the Tokyo Games. For their first match at the Olympics, Vincent Collet’s men have indeed offered the scalp of the United States. An 83-76 victory with a taste of déjà vu since the Blues had already won against Team USA in the quarterfinals of the last world championship.
This success nonetheless remains an event and obviously fascinated the basketball community and beyond. So much so that some had difficulty understanding the treatment reserved by France Televisions to this shock of the first round. The fault in particular with the swings made on the fencing for the final of the male épée, gained by Romain Cannone, which thus offered its first gold medal to the delegation tricolor.
But even more than these round trips with fencing, which however notably caused the Blues’ comeback to be missed when they returned from the locker room, these are indeed the comments of Richard Dacoury. The former icon of Beaublanc, who officiates on France Televisions since 2004, has multiplied the approximations, attracting the wrath of many viewers, who did not fail to point out his errors.
